The Alexander Technique helps to prevent pain by teaching people the good and bad ways to use their body. It was developed by an Australian actor, Frederick Matthias Alexander, after he found his voice problems went away once he corrected his posture.
When you study the Alexander Technique, you’ll learn new ways of sitting, standing and moving – to help harmonise the way your body works. It takes up to 30 lessons to master the technique properly. And although most people learn it to help with neck and back problems, it can be useful for stress-related conditions like:
